Thanks to shrewd layout, multiple dining venues, four expansive outdoor deck areas (1.7 acres!), multiple sports facilities, four pools, and nine hot tubs, passengers are rarely concentrated in any one area. As a result, these ships often feel almost too spacious, eerily empty at times. Not that this is a bad thing, most luxury ships have the same feel.

We sat as a group at 2 of the Anytime Dining restaurants. I had a standard balcony stateroom on the deck with the easiest access to the most food (AKA, the Lido deck) and in the closest proximity to the man who could finally help me fulfill my life long dream of becoming the wife of a cruise ship captain. There’s loads of seating and even on sunny sea days it never was difficult to get a sunbed. This is definitely one of my favourite things about Princess, it was never difficult to find a sunbed even on sunny sea days. There are so many pools on this ship, it’s without a doubt, one of my favourite things about Princess.
The only complaint I have about the theatre is that it is REALLY cold. I’m not sure if the ship was overcompensating because of the hot temperature outside but it was really really cold inside the theatre, especially in the front section. Make sure you bring something to cover your legs and a cardigan/jumper/sweater. Surprisingly this pool actually seemed busiest during our cruise, not sure if it was because of its protected location and the fact that the temperatures in Asia do get pretty high.

The one head-scratcher to the design is the compromised privacy of many balconies that extend out far enough from the ship that people from several decks above can look right down into your “private” enclave. From the Baja Deck, for instance, you can watch other passengers on their Caribe and Dolphin Deck balconies. Caribe occupants can in turn observe their counterparts on the Dolphin Deck.
Feet, but they’re not very private, as they’re in plain view of the occupants of the cabin on the next deck up. Closet space is minimal except in the suites; leave some things home! Vista Suites, called mini-suites on other Princess ships, range from 515 to 800 sq. Sun and Dawn Princess offer larger minisuites for less money.
