I liked the Bohemia Duo, especially when they played classical and contemporary melodies in the Piazza. I thought the selection of Movies Under the Stars on the big screen on the Lido deck was too limited. On a previous Princess cruise (on a larger ship), there was a dedicated movie channel on the TV in the cabin, and you could select the movie to watch. It was not possible to get a schedule of movies throughout the day. This is likely just another example of old technology on this older Princess ship. This is a review of the cruise portion of my Tauck Grand Alaska Journey.

For certain popular events, the lounge could completely fill up so if you really want don’t want to miss something it is important to get there early.

For the first time ever, Princess Cruises 2018 itinerary program offers itineraries leaving round-trip from port Adelaide Australia to New Zealand. We spent quite a lot of time here and it was definitely one of my favourite parts of the ship. Not only were the views spectacular but it also made for quite a nice place to find some shade. Our cruise was around Asia and it did get pretty hot so shade was often welcome. It’s bizarre writing this review because I never usually know the bars by name. I would have just called this one the ‘outside pool bar’.

Including a balcony, the Two Bedroom Family Suite features 2 bedrooms to accommodate up to 8 passengers. The Premium Balcony stateroom is appointed with the same fine amenities as our Balcony stateroom but features a larger balcony.
The tour was 7 days on land, and 7-days on sea aboard the Golden Princess. This is different than my typical cruise review, because my experience was unique to being on a Tauck tour, even on the ship. We had 2 pre-arranged dinners as a group at the Specialty Restaurants (Crown Grill, Sabatini’s Trattoria).
Part of the wellness complex is the Youth Center & Lounge. Also midship on Deck 6 is the Luke's Bar & Grill (Luke Mangan Restaurant) - a fast food bar (with a takeaway option) serving burgers, hotdogs, chicken wings, kebabs, fries, prawns. Luke's Bar also functions as a specialty restaurant for lunch and dinner.
I spent the highest proportion of time on this cruise eating. While I’m not a picky eater like, at all, and will consume and generally enjoy whatever I’ve selected unless it’s tainted with olives or raisins, I’ve never been a huge fan of the Lido buffet on Princess. I find the international selections particularly disappointing when compared with other lines. However, that didn’t stop me from piling my plate with enough carbs to fuel the entire roster of the Pittsburgh Steelers on the Sunday night before Monday Night Football. I really liked this theatre, it’s large and almost all of the seats have a good view. There is a lower section closer to the stage where we liked to sit. We were so close to the action that on a couple of occasions I almost felt as though the sweat from the dancers may hit me, luckily it didn’t.
