We’ve been using TLC for my parents for about 6 weeks now. They do personal care and sometimes meal preparations and cleaning. This has been really a good change; they’ve been really good. I would like to see a weekly schedule so I know who is going to be there and such.

Home Instead’s caregivers gave my mom the best care possible. I never had a second thought of my mom being in the best care while they were with her. Our care giving partners are also trained by the American Red Cross and the Alzheimers Foundation making us leaders in providing care for adults suffering from Dementia and Alzheimers. Executive Care was hired to provide aide 4 hours a day, Monday thru Friday, for my mother who has mid-stage Alzheimer’s. We created a manual of instructions regarding her care including to feed her lunch daily. The aides were not experienced with Alzheimer’s patients. They spent majority of their time sitting on the end of the couch on their cell phones.
We were very pleased with the service that we got from them. The caregiver who came was willing to do anything we asked, including cleaning. Even though it’s hard work for me to ask, she wanted to be busy, so she volunteered to do whatever she could to help. She also cooked, did light cleaning every day that she was here, she was always available, very friendly, and very nice.

Nothing ever got cleaned for him, and there were several times I would visit and there would be a pile of dishes in the sink. There is more than likely other companies to go with, so avoid this one at all costs. Most of the caregivers were nice that I met, but horribly trained and unprepared for what is expected out of someone who is in charge of caring for someone incapable of caring for themselves. The ones that weren’t nice were legitimately scary, and we had to ask the company to never send them again because they made my father feel unsafe being alone with them.
